| Q
- How do you get involved in the NAC? |
| A
- The NAC season starts each year in March and the
first step is to sign-up for tryouts in your home
LQ Center. The tryouts are held in March/April
which lead to qualifying for your Center's team
and attending the NAC Regional tournament in mid-June.
Please speak to your local LQ management team for
more details. |
Q - I am a new LQ Players' Club Member. With
the North America Challenge, if you qualify for
the Finals, does Laser Quest pay for the hotel room
and/or other travel costs for the competitors?
|
| A
- The travel costs involved with the NAC Regionals
and Finals are the responsibility of the players.
Once the teams are qualified via the tryout process,
they can start a fund raising effort to raise some
money to help cover the costs of travel and related
expenses. Your Center's General Manager has a list
of ideas for fund raising to help your team in their
efforts. |
Q - I have a question concerning the rules. They
state that a player may not impede the progress
of another & or something like that. I
have no objection to that, but I have heard comments
about the Marshals being in the way of players during
games. I see the need for them to be in there,
but are there going to be rules about them impeding
the play or progress of the players? |
| A
- It's always a challenge to Marshal those NAC games
due to the tight quarters the Members tend to play
in, the number of Marshals required and the extra
importance of great Marshalling in those games.
I can tell you that this year, as always, we will
be working hard to have the Marshals in the arena
doing their job well without getting in the way
of the players doing theirs. |
Q - What is the rule regarding players wearing gloves
during NAC games? |
| A
- Wearing gloves during game play in any NAC event
is not allowed. The only exceptions would be when
gloves are required for a medical reason. In such
cases, a doctor's note must be supplied to the Head
Marshal or General Manager to justify the use of
gloves. If a player is granted permission to wear
gloves, it will be allowed only on the player's
laser (trigger) hand and the glove must be white. |
Q - We are looking at designing team t-shirts (or
other paraphernalia) for our NAC team. Our
thought was to personalize them, including using
the LQ logo. Could please advise us how to
get permission to use the LQ logo? |
| A
- Unfortunately, the LQ logo cannot be used on your
team items. Laser Quest's logos are trademarked
and as a result cannot be used for anything other
than official company merchandise. Our suggestion
to teams wanting to do similar things is to design
your own NAC team logo and use that. We're
sorry to disappoint you, but look on it instead
as an opportunity to be creative. We've had
some great shirts (and great team logos) at the
tournaments in the past! |
